Change is contagious
Smartphone Free Childhood isn’t a campaign – it’s a culture shift. And it’s catching fire across the country and all over the world.
The conversation is shifting. Families are pushing back. And the pressure to hand over a smartphone “because everyone else has one” is finally starting to crack.
Most importantly, childhoods are changing. Every year of delay is a win. Every unbought smartphone, every deleted app, every honest conversation – it all adds up.
This is how change happens: step by step, conversation by conversation, family by family.

Parents are stepping up, together
The Parent Pact – launched in September 2024 – now has over 140,000 signatories from over 40% of schools in the UK.
Parents are coming together to delay smartphones and give their children the chance to grow up at their own pace. This is how we shift the social norm – not in one fell swoop but with thousands of families united in making the same choice.

Celebrities. Playgrounds. Parliament.
Support has come from all corners – from celebrities like Paloma Faith and Benedict Cumberbatch, to artists, headteachers, academics, healthcare professionals, MPs and parents chatting at the school gates.
Everyone agrees: smartphones are shaping childhood in ways we can’t ignore. And change is overdue.

The world is watching
No other country has built a grassroots movement quite like Smartphone Free Childhood.
Parents from around the globe are working on replicating the model. There are already offshoots in over 30 countries. And international interest is growing fast, with SFC featured everywhere from The New York Times to CNN to Davos.
It’s proof that this isn’t just a British issue. It’s a generational one.
