Parent Pact FAQs

Do I need to sign the pact separately for each of my children?

The pact is counted per child, but you only need to sign once. Just click ‘Add Child’ to include any additional children.

What if my children go to different schools?

No problem. Use the ‘Add Child’ option to enter each child’s details, including their individual school and year group.

What if my child is at a playgroup or pre-school?

Select the ‘Not yet at school’ option below the drop down menu. Then select your region, and choose the right pre-school age group (e.g. 0–1, 1–2, etc).

What if my child is home educated?

Select the ‘Home Educated’ option below the drop down menu. Then select your region and whatever year group corresponds to your child’s age.

Do I need to sign again each year?

Not if your child stays at the same school – our system automatically rolls everyone up to the next academic year on August 1st.

If your child moves to a new school, you’ll need to sign again with the new school and year group.

Please note: if you’re updating the information for one child, you’ll need to re-sign for all your children. This is because your pact data is linked to your email address, and any new entry replaces the previous information for your whole family.

Do I need to sign a new pact if my child moves schools?

Yes – please sign again with their new school and year group.

Please note: if you’re updating the information for one child, you’ll need to re-sign for all your children. This is because your pact data is linked to your email address, and any new entry replaces the previous information for your whole family.

What if I have twins or multiples?

Please add each child separately using the ‘Add Child’ button.

I’ve made a mistake or my information has changed – what should I do?

No worries – just sign the pact again with the correct details. We’ll update your information automatically based on your email address.

Please note: if you’re updating the information for one child, you’ll need to re-sign for all your children. This is because your pact data is linked to your email address, and any new entry replaces the previous information for your whole family.

What if my school isn’t listed?

If your school doesn’t appear in the drop-down menu, drop us a line at community@smartphonefreechildhood.org and we’ll get it added for you.

Q: Why have the pact numbers for my region gone up/down?

A: Don’t worry – the overall total and your school’s figures haven’t changed. We’ve just improved how we count regional data. Some schools were previously listed under more than one region, which meant double-counting in some areas. We’ve now assigned each school to a single region based on its postcode – so while some regional numbers may drop, the data is now more accurate.
